ABOUT TOM REYNOLDS

A structured problem-solver who has sat on every side of the table.

Tom Reynolds is a consultant, operator, investor, and executive with more than 30 years of experience solving complex business problems and leading consequential initiatives.

He began his career in management consulting at Price Waterhouse, where he received the Chairman’s Client Service Award, and later advised media and entertainment companies at Booz Allen Hamilton. At BET Networks, Tom served as chief of staff to the Chairman and CEO before leading strategy and business development. He went on to work as a private equity partner, entrepreneur, interim executive, and strategic adviser to businesses across technology, media, enterprise software, fintech, consumer products, live events, nonprofits, and hospitality technology.

Across those roles, the recurring work has been the same: identify what matters, separate signal from noise, develop a financially grounded plan, align the people whose support is required, and make sure the work moves.

Through ESP Consulting, Tom works directly with owners, CEOs, investors, boards, and leadership teams. Clients get his judgment and attention throughout the engagement. There are no layers of junior consultants and no handoff after the work is sold.

Tom earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He serves on nonprofit boards and is a fellow of the British-American Project.

WHEN TO CALL

When you don't have anyone else to fix the problem.

If burnout is stalling your progress, critical tasks are falling through the cracks, or not having a second-in-command is creating a growth bottleneck, ESP is your go-to. There is no reason to struggle alone. ESP can help you clearly define the problem, figure out the range of options, and implement the solution. We roll up our sleeves and help you get the work done.

The owner is still the operating system

Too many decisions, relationships, and processes depend on one person. Important work slows whenever the owner’s attention is elsewhere, and growth is constrained by the owner’s personal capacity.

A growth opportunity needs a real plan

A new market, offering, channel, acquisition, or partnership looks promising, but the economics, capabilities, risks, and operating requirements have not been resolved.

A strategic priority has no senior owner

The initiative crosses functions, sits outside normal roles, or requires more experience and sustained attention than the leadership team can provide around existing responsibilities.

SERVICES

The right level of support for the priority in front of you.

You  select what support level is right for you. From a Let's talk it through to I need a #2, ESP can provide the support you need to gain clarity, confidence, and capacity for breaking through the barriers to get back on track.

Talk It

A 75-minute call to talk it through

Sustained execution leadership

On-demand executive leverage

Direct advisory for the CEO or owner. We serve as a sounding board, strategic architect, and proxy for leadership to increase the speed and quality of organizational decisions.

Contact

Please share.

In a few sentences, describe the decision or priority, why it matters now, and what has prevented progress. If the situation appears to fit, I will suggest a focused 20-minute introductory conversation. You do not need a polished brief.
